Rural homes get dirty differently from suburban ones. Gravel and dirt drives put fine grit into entries and onto hard floors, pollen and field dust settle on every horizontal surface, and mud rooms and utility rooms take the brunt of it. We vacuum hard floors before mopping so the grit is lifted rather than smeared, dust with damp microfiber, and budget more time for entries than we would in a tract home.
